PLEASE NOTE

Due to recent legislative changes introduced on 6th April 2009 the time taken to complete a HIP has increased significantly. Times vary greatly from one Local Authority to another. All HIP providers are affected by this.

The situation should not in any way delay marketing of your property as the Local Authority Search is not required in order to commence marketing.

We are unique in that we can give you a good indication as to when you should expect to receive your completed HIP when placing your order.

Background

Legislative changes that came into force on 6th April 2009 meant that Local Authority Searches were required to contain additional information that was previously optional. Many Local Authorities, being unused to providing access to this information, have struggled to cope with these new demands. The result of this is that the time taken to obtain a Personal Local Authority Search, and thus the time taken to complete a HIP, has dramatically increased since 6th April 2009.
